Gourmet Restaurant The Grand Monarque's elegant brasserie contributes a little more to the permanent liveliness of this central location in Chartres. People drop in from time to time at the gastronomic Georges, but every day they frequent this buzzing place, open 7 days a week all year round, where they're sure to find just the right dish. Bertrand Jallerat and Thomas Parnaud's team offer a comprehensive, easy-to-adjust menu: smoked trout and tzatziki, homemade foie gras, Chartres duck pâté, truffle linguine, Grand Monarque-style veal loin, venison tournedos with whisky sauce... Homemade desserts are classic and well-crafted, and the cellar is well-stocked with local beers on draught or in bottle.
