This intimate establishment, with its zen and friendly atmosphere, is a true invitation to a gourmet journey: A L'Obento delivers a sincere ode to traditional Japanese cuisine as concocted in typical izakayas. Gilles shares his passion for Japan through sushi served on the counter upstairs in the O Sushi Dokoro, an area reserved for tasting these delicacies. Sushi is served on display, and made according to the rules of Japanese savoir-faire: hand-molding, respect for assembly, sauces and marinades, precision in the preparation of fish and rice of different qualities and vinegars. You'll also be delighted by the subtle, authentic flavors of Japanese cuisine served by Chef Ryoko, who has worked in some of the finest restaurants in her native country. The dish of the day and the unmissable house specialty, ramen, vary according to her inspirations, respecting the textures and flavors of a cuisine as healthy as it is tasty, accompanied by Japanese beverages (lemonades, a fine selection of teas served in teapots, beers...). The upstairs O Sushi Dokoro is open by reservation on Saturday evenings only. The first floor is open from Tuesday to Saturday for lunch, from 12.30 to 2.30 pm, and for dinner, from 7.30 to 9.30 pm (on Saturday evenings, until the end of service upstairs).
