Gourmet Restaurant Turn down an alleyway in the heart of the charming village of Valbonne and you'll find yourself in the heart of Marrakech's medina, with oriental carpets strewn across the floor and the restaurant's terrace and lounges decked out in a thousand colors to echo the sunny cuisine. It's a cuisine of hospitality and sharing, where cumin, paprika, cinnamon and fresh coriander reign supreme, as in the case of the grilled sardines stuffed with lemon, then pan-fried with extra-fine semolina breadcrumbs. Gourmets won't want to miss the pigeon pastilla, while others will go straight for the lamb, chicken and fish tagines, garnished with prunes, zucchinis or artichokes, and some will be tempted by couscous with kefta skewers, merguez, meatballs and mechoui, here with lamb mice rather than shoulder. Mint tea is the perfect accompaniment to oriental pastries or cinnamon orange salad. To quench your thirst, stick around with a guerrouane, and the trip to the Atlas lands will be complete.
