Chef's Restaurant With Harry Cummins in the kitchen, Laura Vidal, a passionate sommelier who's a little less present these days, and Julia Mitton in charge of management, the trio that has woken up the Cours Saint-Louis is one of the leading lights on Marseille's gastronomic scene. Their tables are (logically) crowded (getting a corner table, even at the counter, is a sweet dream if you haven't booked), because the food is good, the drink intelligent and the bill reasonable. On the plate, you can feel the touch of a chef who works without blinkers, not hesitating to cover his excellent homemade tarama with a thick slice of toasted bread under which you'll discover crunchy radishes and snow peas, daring the cuttlefish ragout, perfectly cooked, with a spicy sauce, beautiful pieces of fennel confit and new potatoes or bringing together, in a risotto with green and wild asparagus, pecorino and fresh mint. Desserts in the same spirit, from the classic tatin and crème crue to the more personal whey jam ice cream with cocoa-bag cookie, coffee cream and tamarind caramel. The cellar is a compendium of the very best in organic and natural production.
