Original Restaurant The khaki of the Foch barracks across the street is brilliantly matched by a canary-yellow facade for aperitifs and nibbles, and a brick-red facade when hunger strikes! The AOC has completed its offer with the adjoining creation of the Okal, offering sandwiches, salads and other platters... As far as the restaurant itself is concerned, in keeping with the bistro tradition, we particularly appreciate the great classics, the simplest dishes. They're all based on top-quality products: noble Aubrac meats from Maison Conquet in Laguiole, flanked by an Aligot that's as sprightly as you'd like, or presented as a burger. Paul and Olivier Renault's poultry (the "coucou" from Rennes) is also a tempting alternative. On the other hand, we're far less convinced by the sophistication of certain dishes, which lead to disappointment. For example, the starter in the form of an egg "treated like a floating island", which zest of Buddha's hand, spinach coulis, caramelized pink onion petals, herring roe and so on, try in vain to save... Fortunately, the monkfish medallions with chorizo cream put the smile back on our faces! But when it came to dessert, even the "brioche perdue" failed to live up to its billing (too doughy)... We call this a "day without" or a bad intuition in the choice of dishes! Eminently friendly service. Some fifty wine suggestions that fit the bill perfectly: Languedoc Puech Haut, Côte Rotie and Saint Joseph from Yves Cuilleron, Faugères from La Liquière, Costières de Nîmes from Château Vessière...
