Gault&Millau's review 2026

Not all concepts are created equal, but this one is incredibly well thought out and remains a must-visit for Lille locals and tourists alike, who flock to the bar to place their orders. Part traditional tavern, part “brewpub”—whether on the terrace or in the soft pink dining room—you won’t know which beer to choose first: 12 house beers on tap, in every color, with recipes that change with the seasons (plain, Hazy IPA, dark ale, or flavored varieties like the Hardy Raspberry or light wheat beer), to wash down the potjevleesch and its thick, melt-in-your-mouth fries fried in beef fat, a fricadelle made from a recipe that remains a secret—though we thought we detected a hint of fresh cilantro, adding a refreshing note to the indulgent dish, or the “Maroilles Burger,” made with organic beef from the Hauts-de-France region, bacon, pickles, Maroilles cheese, and smoked mayo.
