At the foot of Mont Blanc, this historic resort is now one of the most popular in Haute-Savoie, with 400 km of slopes, charming hotels and prestigious restaurants that combine gourmet delights with authenticity. Here are our 10 favorite addresses, not to be missed.

People come here to enjoy an exceptional ski area and admire the lofty silhouette of Mont-Blanc. Once here, you'll be delighted to discover that Megève's charm also lies in the village spirit it has miraculously managed to preserve. Where to stay in Megève?

Hôtel Au coin du feu

On the heights of Megève, this refuge has been owned for the past 10 years by Nicolas Grivet, a native of the region who has restored the hotel's 1930s chalet feel. A quest for simplicity that gives the place a rare charm, with 22 rooms and suites decorated with antique furniture, fabrics made to measure by Tarentaise craftsmen and high-comfort bedding, all extended by Art Deco bathrooms. Particularly noteworthy are the cosy lounge and bar, as well as the Le Saint-Nicolas restaurant, where you can sample recipes created by the young and very talented Marvin Lance. Also featuring a wellness area with spa and sauna, this is an address not to be missed.

Hôtel Cœur de Megève

Just a stone's throw from the church and the ski lifts, this hotel, restored in 2019, is now a landmark for Megève lovers. The credit goes to interior designer Sybille de Margerie, who has transformed former chalets into delightful cocoons, with 38 rooms and suites dressed in brushed walnut, Hainaut blue stone and Scandinavian furniture. On the first floor, the lounge revolves around a large fireplace, ideal for lazing around after a day in the powder with a cocktail, before heading to the Le Coeur restaurant to sample revisited Alpine cuisine. Another nugget is a spa designed by the green brand Tata Harper, featuring a sensory shower, Finnish-style sauna and nail bar, as well as two cabins where you can enjoy divine massages and a range of 100% natural treatments.

La Stazione pop-up store

After Paris and Lyon, the Socialite Family brand this year inaugurates a chalet-style pop-up store in the heart of the resort. Here you'll find the selection that has made the label such a success: lighting fixtures, rugs, cushions and iconic furniture - the essential Carlotta table, the Rotondo sofa - as well as new items such as the sleek Aldo armchair. Maison AAllard

We love this boutique, founded in 1926 by tailor Armand Allard - inventor of the spindle which revolutionized skiwear at the time. A piece of Megève's heritage, it is still one of the most sought-after addresses today, thanks to a perfect selection of ultra-chic mountain clothing and accessories, produced in France, Italy and Germany for technical models, including wetsuits by Munich-based Bogner. Now owned by Antoine Allard, Armand's grandson, the shop houses a workshop where garments are retouched, offering a quasi-sur-mesure service.

Au Soli

The stronghold of antique dealer Jean-Luc Freundorfer, who was once master cabinetmaker to architect Henri-Jacques Le Même. This contemporary of Charlotte Perriand built the resort's first chalets in the Savoyard style of the '30s, whose furniture is highly sought-after today. Beautiful fabrics, XVIIIᵉ mountain paintings, antique doors, wall panelling... Jean-Luc's boutique brings together the best of it, presented in the first floor salon and in the beautiful exhibition space in the basement.

Escape to Megève: 3 slopes not to be missed

400 kilometers of slopes linking the resort to Saint-Gervais, Combloux or Les Contamines-Hauteluce... Megève offers one of the richest and most varied ski areas. Our favorite runs? Around Rochebrune, the east-facing Alpette is ideal for sunny mornings. On Mont d'Arbois, the Rouge de la Princesse is quite busy, but it's one of the longest and most pleasant runs, with a sumptuous view over the valley. Finally, thrill-seekers won't want to miss the ultra-steep descents from Mont-Joly, facing Mont-Blanc.

Whether you're looking for a safe bet or a secret spot, here are our top 10 places to discover the best of Megève...
