Spring is a time for watering!

Spring is a time for watering!

Laurent Vuillaume | 3/29/22

Spring is here, and with it a host of events to promote wines, beers and other spirits. Here's our selection for April.

  • La Percée du vin jaune, in Cramans

April 2 and 3.

The "Percée" is one of the most enjoyable wine events of the season. After six long years of waiting, the winegrowers of the Jura break open their barrels of vin jaune. A festival that travels from village to village every year, the atmosphere is always joyful and convivial. A not-to-be-missed event for discovering Jura wines.

  • Rhum Fest, Paris

April 2-4.

Three days dedicated to rum in the bucolic setting of the Parc Floral de Paris. Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd are reserved for amateurs, while Monday is dedicated to professionals. A unique opportunity to discover over 180 brands from 45 countries, and a mouth-watering program of masterclasses.

  • Printemps des vins de Blaye

April 2 and 3.

Blaye is famous for its Vauban citadel, built in 1689 on the banks of the Gironde. Over the course of a weekend, around a hundred local winemakers will be on hand to offer tastings of their wines. A program of events completes the tasting offer, with initiations, chocolate and wine pairing workshops, guided tours of the building, and even tai-chi classes.

  • Les Printemps de Châteauneuf-du-Pape

April 1-3.

The eleventh edition of this fair, which gives wine lovers and professionals alike the chance to taste wines from around a hundred estates. The Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation is well known to wine-lovers for its quality and for the anecdote about the thirteen grape varieties allowed in the bottle. What is less well known, however, is the impact of terroir on the type of wines produced in the appellation. Soils of sand or pebbles, from Grenache or Syrah, will produce very different wines. To be discovered on site.

  • Crozes-Hermitage Grand Weekend

April 22, 23 and 24.

In Mercurol, the nerve center of the appellation, a major wine market will be held, with some 50 producers offering tastings of wines on sale at the estate. The event will obviously focus on Crozes-Hermitage, but you'll also be able to sample wines from the Condrieu, Cornas, Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, Saint Joseph and Saint Péray appellations. A canteen will also be available for refreshments. In the evening, winegrowers will be on hand in bars and restaurants to extend the festivities.

  • Ampuis Wine Market

From April 29 to May 2.

The côte-rôtie market has been held in Ampuis for ages. A must for professionals, it's rare to see so many great wines per square meter. Open to all, the market brings together more than 60 estates and houses, offering you the chance to taste and buy the wines of the appellation, as well as their production in the various AOCs of the Northern Rhône. Not to be missed.
