Since 2003, MAAF has been promoting the skills and know-how of the culinary professions, while encouraging health prevention through food, with the Prix Goût et Santé. This event rewards several craftsmen who have created a recipe combining gustatory pleasure and a balanced diet. Gault&Millau is working with MAAF on this project, to support French craftsmanship and highlight the excellence of its gastronomic heritage.

In this particular health context, registration for the 19th MAAF Taste and Health Award for Artisans is being maintained and is open until April 30, 2021. To register, go directly to: https://www.prix-gout-sante.fr/candidat.php

Every year since 2003, MAAF, with the support of Gault&Millau and CMA France, has been promoting the talents of food artisans and the nutritional quality of foodstuffs through the Prix Goût et Santé. This national competition has already rewarded more than 53 artisans and highlighted 778 recipes combining taste and health.

As last year, the Prix Goût et Santé will reward artisans in 2021, in 4 distinct categories:

- Savory recipe

- Sweet recipes

- Take-away recipes

- Recipe to keep

The 12 finalists, who will be selected in June 2021, will meet like-minded professionals at the convivial awards evening in Paris scheduled for October 2021, which will take place at Thierry Marx's Parisian "cuisine mode d'emploi" school.

The winners in each category will receive €5,000 in prize money, plus an additional €5,000 for a total of

a total of €10,000 for the winner whose creation will receive the title of "Recipe 2021"!

Whether you're a butcher, charcutier, caterer, tripe-maker, fishmonger, baker, confectioner, ice-cream maker, crepe-maker or restaurateur, the Prix Goût et Santé competition is open to all artisans meeting the following conditions:

- work in the food sector in France (mainland France and overseas departments and territories)

- be registered with a Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat (Chamber of Trades and Crafts)

- Have implemented, in the choice of components for its products and in their manufacturing process, an approach aimed at eliminating or mitigating risk factors (sugars, saturated fats, salt, agents favoring cholestérol, hypertension, diabetes, or other pathologies) or seeking to highlight ingredients that prevent certain diseases or ensure a better quality of life, while maintaining a high level of nutritional and taste quality.

You're not a craftsman, but a private individual or a chef who knows a craftsman who might be interested in the project? Then don't hesitate to introduce them to this competition and encourage them to apply!
