Prestige Hotel
A true oddity in the hotel world, the MOB opened in 2017 near the Saint-Ouen flea market, with the goal of revitalizing this working-class, long-neglected neighborhood—all under the leadership of a dynamic duo: entrepreneur Cyril Aouizerate and designer Philippe Starck. Amid a maze of narrow streets lined with single-family homes, the MOB Hotel emerges, featuring 1980s industrial architecture. A saffron-colored wooden door, adorned with a Tibetan medallion, opens onto a courtyard lined with terraces filled with flowers, bistro tables, and striped umbrellas. The hotel features 92 rooms, a grocery store, a library, and an open-air movie theater, and operates as a “cooperative movement,” organizing a variety of events—concerts, designer exhibitions, yoga sessions, and gardening or street art workshops. Neighborhood residents can even cultivate small plots of land on the rooftop before joining passing visitors at the organic cafeteria, where pizzas, antipasti, and burrata reign supreme. Just a stone’s throw away, the group is launching its second project, the MOB House, which offers a philosophy centered on long stays, complete with a swimming pool and its restaurant, Feuille de Chou—also 100% certified organic.
