Gault&Millau's review 2025

A veritable hotel UFO, the Mob set up shop in 2017 near the Saint-Ouen flea market, with the ambition of reinvesting this popular, forgotten district, all under the impetus of a striking duo: entrepreneur Cyril Aouizerate and designer Philippe Starck. In the middle of a maze of pavilion-lined alleyways rises the Mob Hotel, with its 1980s industrial architecture. A saffron-colored wooden door, adorned with a Tibetan medallion, opens onto a courtyard lined with flower-filled terraces, bistro tables and striped parasols. The hotel houses 92 rooms, a grocery store, a library and an open-air cinema, and is developing as "a cooperative movement", organizing numerous events - concerts, designer exhibitions, yoga sessions, gardening or street art workshops. Local residents can even cultivate small plots of land on the roof, before meeting visitors at Karlito, an organic canteen where pizzas, antipasti and burrata are king. Next door, an equally disruptive new opus has recently been added, the Mob House, with swimming pool and 100% organic restaurant.
