"A hotel where every room is a movie theater"... Brothers Nathanaël and Elisha Karmitz (who head the MK2 Group) made this dream a reality in March 2021 by opening the world’s first cinema-hotel, located above the legendary MK2 Nation in the 12th arrondissement. With 34 rooms and 2 suites, all you have to do is choose from thousands of titles by clicking on a tablet for the magic to begin: a 3-meter-wide screen unfolds, the room goes dark, and you can even have popcorn delivered via room service. This unique concept features interior design by Alix Thomsen and overall design by the DVVD agency, encompassing the entire experience: a café with a terrace run by Bob’s Juice Bar, a private karaoke room, a rooftop with a bar and an open-air cinema, coworking spaces—not to mention contributions from major artists — Christian Boltanski has created a light installation there, and JR has created two large murals, the most spectacular of which is inspired by Charlie Chaplin’s legendary “Kid.” A hotel designed for all movie lovers—a must-see.
