Gault&Millau's review 2025

A touch of the exotic just outside Quimper... This 18th-century manor house once belonged to sailor and adventurer René Madec, who set sail for the Indies in 1747. Extensively restored and transformed into a hotel by Olivier and Catherine Sergeant, it now houses 16 rooms and suites. Named Siam, Macao or Vanikoro, they are largely inspired by the East Indies, in homage to the former owner. The manor also boasts an excellent table d'hôtes, a wellness area with spa, sauna and swimming pool nestled in a sumptuous vaulted room. Finally, don't miss Sharewood, the hotel's new tapas bar, which brings together travelers and locals in a warm, relaxed atmosphere every evening.
