Just 15 minutes from Chambord, in the heart of the Sologne on a 50-hectare estate, Les Cabanes des Veilleurs lays 18 rough-hewn wooden lodges on the water or on stilts. The experience begins on the wooden pontoons that wind around the Etang des Veillas, leading to light-filled refuges with a Scandinavian aesthetic. Behind large bay windows, nature invites itself into the room: the ballet of herons and the stealthy dive of a coypu replace the screens, while each private terrace houses a heated Nordic bath for absolute disconnection under the stars. Luxury is experienced in jogging shoes and walking boots, far from any stiffness, between picnic baskets filled with rillons and glasses of Sauvignon blanc sipped in front of water lilies. When you wake up in the morning, the breakfast basket left on your doorstep - homemade jams and still-warm bread - completes this return to the essentials. For those who suffocate in the city and just want to hear something other than car horns.
