Gault&Millau's review 2025

Located near Bagnoles-de-l’Orne, the Andaine Forest is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and oldest forests in France. It is within this preserved area that this former hunting lodge, now converted into a 4-star hotel, is located. Spacious, bright, and decorated with natural materials, the 29 rooms and suites—each featuring a balcony or terrace—are arranged around the main building and the “Pavillons des bois,” situated on the edge of the forest and accommodating up to 5 people. Owned by the Quinton-Lebailly family, the Manoir is also the domain of Chef Franck Quinton—winner of the 2026 Gault&Millau d’Or Trophy—who offers top-tier gourmet cuisine, as well as numerous “Fresh from the Market” workshops and, in season, mushroom foraging followed by tastings. Finally, it’s worth noting the wide range of amenities available, including outdoor and indoor pools, a pool table, a tennis court, and mountain bike rentals, making it an ideal destination for families.
