Gault&Millau's review 2025

Near Bagnoles-de-l'Orne, the Andaine forest is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and oldest in France. This hunting lodge, transformed into a 4-star hotel, is set in the heart of this unspoilt area. Spacious, bright and decorated with natural materials, the 11 rooms and suites, extended by balconies or terraces, are spread around the main building and the "Pavillons des bois", set on the edge of the forest and able to accommodate up to 5 people. Owned by the Quinton-Lebailly family, the Manoir is also the stronghold of chef Franck Quinton, who offers top-flight gourmet cuisine, as well as numerous "Retour du marché" workshops and, in season, mushroom picking followed by tastings. Last but not least, a host of facilities, including an outdoor and indoor swimming pool, billiards table, tennis court and mountain bike hire, make this an ideal place for families.
