The Landemer is certainly ambitious and makes no secret of it. The inn has been carefully renovated: the rooms invite you to relax, while the contemporary dining room opens onto the sea and the beach at Urville-Nacqueville. Located ten kilometers from Cherbourg, this haven lies right next to the starting point of the Sentier des Douaniers (GR 223), a trail along the wild coastline that inspired Boris Vian, Claude Monet, and Françoise Sagan. Its nine rooms, spread between the historic building and the farmhouse, offer high-end comfort: fabrics from India and Italy, solid oak floors, and—in four of them—the feeling of sailing in a luxury cabin facing the horizon. At the helm of the gourmet restaurant, Chef Alex Yvon elevates regional ingredients sourced from local producers.
