Nestled in a green setting in the heart of Saumur town center, Château la Comtesse de Loire invites you to take a trip back to the Belle Époque. Built in 1896, this manor house sits in the heart of Saumur, but its park shaded by tall trees makes it an ideal refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. At the time, the Château was the majestic property of Madame Baillou de la Brosse. In the 1920s, Alfred Meyer and his wife acquired the property to settle near the prestigious "Gratien & Meyer" winery. Owned by the same family until 2002, the property has now changed hands, retaining its wood panelling and antique furniture while offering the very best in contemporary comfort. All you have to do is choose from one of the 10 rooms and suites, all with en-suite bathrooms and featuring floral drapes, antique furniture and fine bedding.
