In the heart of the medieval city of Dinan, a listed historic monument, this 15th-century half-timbered house has been transformed into a guest house to the delight of its guests. Spread over three floors, the 5 rooms are an invitation to travel, with a mix of designer furniture and antique pieces, largely inspired by the travels of the former owner - explorer Auguste Pavie, France's first vice-consul in Laos in the 1890s. Depending on your mood, you'll move on to a room named Angkor, Kampot or Luang Prabang, before discovering the ground-floor salon with its panelled walls and 18th-century lion-legged fireplace. A lovely place to stop, acclaimed for its warm welcome and breakfasts served in the dining room (don't miss the delicious galettes bretonnes), which opens onto a beautifully landscaped courtyard.
