In the heart of the village and close to Leucate's most beautiful beaches, this confidential guesthouse is housed in a 17th-century building owned by painter Nicolas Galtier, who artfully restored the premises, blending 1950s design (pieces by Paulin, Eames and Saarinen) with a Baroque spirit and Venetian inspirations. It's a warm, refined place that immediately makes you want to put down your suitcases in one of the 5 bedrooms upstairs, before moving on to the first floor and its delightful reading room, decorated with works by the master of the house. There's also a lovely terrace where you can enjoy homemade breakfasts, before heading off to the beach or to discover the famous ponds, populated by reeds and pink flamingos.
