A rare place, set against the village of Ménerbes in the heart of the Lubéron. For two centuries, this 18th-century mansion was a refuge for aristocratic families, before becoming the property of American art patron Nancy Negley (a friend of Dora Maar), who blended 18th-century splendor with modernism. Bequeathed to the Fondation Mérimée, the property fell into oblivion before returning to the fold of the Pierres d'Histoires collection, which breathes new life into historic sites by transforming them into residences. The Hôtel de Tingry now offers guests the privilege of renting the entire château, or bed & breakfasting in one of four rooms decorated with tapestries, period furniture and antique floor tiles, with sumptuous views over the vineyards and the Cavalon plain. Also worthy of mention are the contemporary works of art scattered around the hotel and the elegant swimming pool hidden in the grounds.
