Breathtaking views of the Pyrenees, a magnificent Musée des Beaux-Arts, some 300 Belle Époque mansions scattered here and there... The Villa Navarre, built in 1879 by Auguste Guillemin, is one of Pau's sumptuous heirlooms. Set in the heart of a 2-hectare park and now transformed into a hotel, it boasts 30 rooms and suites of timeless, refined luxury, with plush carpets, 5-star bedding and flowery curtains, all opening onto the city's rooftops and the lofty skyline of the Pyrenees as a backdrop. A perfect haven of well-being, the establishment also boasts a beautiful indoor swimming pool (rare in the heart of the city), a Jacuzzi and a treatment room offering a wide range of massages. A final asset is the restaurant, run by a chef who concocts local, seasonal cuisine (with a special mention for the exquisite vegetables from the kitchen garden), served in the dining room and, in fine weather, on the terrace overlooking the mountains.
