Gault&Millau's review 2025

This building is a piece of the neighborhood's history, built in 1929 as the Hôtel Charleston and favored refuge of Joséphine Baker. Set at the foot of the Sacré-Coeur and now a member of the Orso Group, it has kept its Belle Époque style intact, revitalized by the architectural duo Festen, who dressed up the brasserie-style restaurant with white tablecloths and long red banquettes. Spread over 8 floors, the 106 rooms and suites share the same spirit - alabaster sconces, earthenware in the bathrooms, warm tones (bronze, tobacco, sunflower yellow) and, for some, fantastic views of the basilica. A place as popular with travelers as it is with locals, who gather at the Mikado Dancing to rediscover the joyous, extravagant atmosphere of the Années folles, with concerts and DJ sets. Last but not least, a rooftop on the top floor with a 360° view of the city lights, with the Sacré-Coeur and the Eiffel Tower as guest-stars...
