Gault&Millau's review 2025

Just a stone's throw from the Gallimard offices, this 5-star boutique hotel is a natural haven for the publishing world and Parisian writers, who gather at one of their favorite HQs, the Montalembert restaurant or the fireplace-warmed bar to enjoy one of the signature cocktails, the "Campari Crush" or the "Sagan High Tea". Inaugurated in 1926 and extensively redesigned in 2016 by interior designer Pascal Allaman, the 50 rooms and suites are still served by an old 1900s elevator and skilfully blend contemporary with details from the past - waxed wood flooring, ebony wood, Bisazza mosaics in the bathrooms, silk curtains by Pierre Frey. A place that epitomizes the German-Pratin spirit, a refined ode to the literary soul of the Left Bank...
