Gault&Millau's review 2025

Nestled on the hillside of Annecy-le-Vieux, close to Lake Bourget, Lake Annecy and Lake Geneva, this historic and confidential Relais & Châteaux member hotel is an authentic retreat, connected to the essentials of unspoilt nature. At its heart are 11 rooms and suites inspired by the roots of the land and contemporary purity, with wood-burning or graphic fireplaces, antique woodwork, leather sofas and bathrooms with whirlpool tubs and XXL showers. Downstairs, the living room-fireplace leads to the large terrace with its century-old chestnut trees and, just a stone's throw away, the swimming pool and herb garden, a creative and endless well of plant and lake gastronomy, 100% locavore, expressed by its co-owners, chef Franck Derouet and head sommelier Thomas Lorival. A few steps further on, La Maison invites you to immerse yourself in nature by joining the hammocks available in the park or under the living wicker gazebo, before losing yourself in the magnificent permaculture vegetable garden under the expert guidance of Lionel, the gardener.
