Exceptional Hotel
An address like a journey through time. Set at the entrance to the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, this four-century-old shipowner's residence now offers some twenty luxurious rooms and suites, all designed in homage to famous figures - explorers, artists, writers... Spread over two floors around the aromatic garden, the rooms are decorated by Pierre-Yves Rochon, highlighting the work of local craftsmen, with fabrics by Pierre Frey or Canova. The result is flawless, as is the design of George's bar and restaurant, with its chic lounge terrace overlooking the harbour. Mention should also be made of the massages and treatments offered in the hotel and the beautiful outdoor pool at Villa Clarisse, owned by the same proprietor. Located just a stone's throw away, it welcomes Toiras guests who come here to do their laps before lazing on a deckchair in the lovely enclosed garden...
