Gault&Millau's review 2025

Part of the Barrière Group, it is one of the coast’s must-see destinations and has been a haven for actors and directors for over a century, who gather there each year for the Deauville American Film Festival. Built in 1912 in the Anglo-Norman style, with a majestic half-timbered façade, the hotel was restored in 2016 and features 271 rooms and suites offering refined luxury, including the “Un homme et une femme Suite,” which pays homage to Claude Lelouch’s masterpiece filmed at the hotel in 1966. The La Belle Époque restaurant treats guests to Norman cuisine served in the dining room, which has retained its historic decor, as has Le Bar du Normandy—a magical spot with its stained-glass windows, deep armchairs, and fireplace. Finally, a special mention goes to the Guerlain Spa—the only Guerlain location on the Normandy coast, which opened in May 2026—featuring a fitness center, yoga and Pilates classes, and an indoor pool topped by a beautiful glass roof.
