At the foot of Montmartre Hill, in “New Athens”—a neighborhood steeped in romantic splendor where painters, writers, and intellectuals took up residence as early as 1820—Highstay Maisons opened its third Parisian location in late 2025 in a fully restored building. Architect Olivier Bacin describes the project as “a face-to-face encounter with a fragile building, steeped in history”: a stone facade stripped of its layers of paint, historic woodwork reused, and a stairwell restored to its original state. The thirteen suites, designed by interior architect Chloé Nègre, function as hybrid spaces combining the independence of an apartment with hotel standards: kitchenette, workspace, and living room. A bull’s-eye window frames the Sacré-Cœur like a painting.
