Prestige Hotel
Monpazier is one of the best-preserved bastides in Périgord - founded in 1284 in the name of King Edward I of England, its cornered square has remained virtually unchanged for seven centuries. The eponymous hotel, housed in a 19th-century manor house on the village ramparts, changed hands in 2021: Michel Fredric invested to renovate and reposition the address, adding rooms, swimming pool, spa and strengthening the Éléonore restaurant table. The 17 rooms are decorated with care, in the spirit of a private home rather than a standardized hotel. The restaurant's cuisine - open only in the evening - is based on inventive Périgord produce. A confidential address in a village that deserves a visit for its own sake.
