Prestige Hotel Nestled in a park with sublime views of Mont Blanc, the Aravis mountain range and Lac d'Annecy, this château - as seductive as it is original - was built in 1907 by the wealthy American Mary Wallace Schillito and her husband, a Hindu astronomer. Owned by the Odin family since 1994, a few traces of their whimsical spirit remain, including a delightful gold-mosaic chapel featuring illustrations of the Kabbalah and Egyptian tarot cards. For the rest, the 14 rooms and suites in the château and the 6 suites in the Maison des Écureuils take on a luxurious, contemporary look with their clean lines, luminous tones and shimmering velvets. A special mention must also go to Restaurant M and the romantic parkland, with its century-old pines and flower-filled flowerbeds.
