Gault&Millau's review 2026

With its 15th-century turrets and neo-Gothic extensions, this Sarthe château has retained its medieval soul. Its peaceful moat is now home to herons, swans and wild ducks - a bucolic spectacle that sets the tone. Five guest rooms with antique furnishings and flowery hangings occupy the château, while a self-catering cottage nestles in the heart of the estate. Breakfast and meals (to order) are served in the large historic dining room. A charming pied-à-terre for exploring the Sarthe region.
