Gault&Millau's review 2025

At the entrance to the Cèze valley and a stone's throw from the small village of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, this beautiful 1850s mansion is hidden in a 5h park filled with tall trees and magnificent rose bushes. Remarkably restored in 2018, it now feels like a family home, with 29 bedrooms and suites, an apartment and a small house in the park, all with silk-panelled walls and antique furniture. The outdoor pool is heated for year-round swimming, and the château is also home to two excellent restaurants (Le Bistro and Le Cèdre de Montcaud) led by chef Mathieu Hervé.
