Gault&Millau's review 2025

In the heart of Bazouges-la-Pérouse, this beautiful granite château has preserved its salons, with their period ceilings and woodwork, all revived with club armchairs and contemporary photographs. Transformed into a guest house, it now houses 5 spacious rooms and suites, a spa, an outdoor swimming pool and an exceptional park, cultivated by the owner herself, Marie-Françoise Mathiot-Mathon. Spread over 2 hectares, the park opens onto a course of 13 green rooms, a veritable labyrinth designed in the 17th century and inspired by Italian Baroque, while an avenue of lime trees leads to the regular garden, a marvel of topiary art enamelled with modern sculptures. This rare site, a member of the Collectionneurs, is well worth a visit in its own right, but also offers the chance to explore nearby Mont Saint-Michel, Cancale and the ramparts of Saint-Malo.
