Gault&Millau's review 2025

Close to Angers and the Layon vineyards, this 15th-century château is now a charming refuge and a member of the Hôtels & Préférence collection. Skilfully restored, the 27 rooms and suites, which have preserved their exposed beams and stone fireplaces, offer a perfect mix of contemporary pieces and period furniture. For those seeking absolute peace and quiet, a separate cabin is nestled in the château grounds. All open onto the park with its immense trees, rose bushes and natural swimming pool, filtered by the action of plants alone. L'Orangerie's table is supplied with fruit and vegetables from the permaculture vegetable garden. Located in the former bakeries, the spa extends this natural dimension with treatments by Les Jardins de Gogagne and Douces Angevines, a certified organic French company.
