Close to the Petite France district, this hotel, housed in the building of a former bank, has opted for a bold approach, abandoning the Alsatian inspirations that are flourishing in Strasbourg to offer a place that's a complete change of scenery, in homage to a chic and warm contemporary Africa. Right from the first floor, the tone is set with wicker lamps above the bar and the Boma Bistrot space decked out in shimmering colors and Togo-produced chairs on which to enjoy organic cuisine, faithful to the rhythm of the seasons. Spread over 6 floors, the 103 rooms share the same spirit, with dry earth-colored walls and African clichés, some with balconies or terraces overlooking the cathedral. Last but not least, there's a boutique with beautiful handicrafts, a fitness room in the basement (guarded by a life-size image of a Maasai chief) and the chance to take part in regular events (concerts, exhibitions) organized by the Boma. Definitely one of the city's coolest refuges, now the HQ of many locals.
