Gault&Millau's review 2025

Located halfway between Niort, Poitiers, and La Rochelle, this 17th-century château—recently converted into a hotel—has already won over a loyal following who swear by its many attractions: a 60-hectare park that is home to an 18-hole golf course, 17 spacious, elegantly decorated rooms and suites (exposed beams, antique furniture, and large glass windows), and a gourmet restaurant, Le Daniels, located in the château’s magnificently restored dining room. Not to mention a wine and cognac cellar housing some 10,000 bottles, adjacent to a smoking lounge. Finally, a special mention for the beautiful chapel and the orangery, which also add to the charm of the place, making it perfect for a romantic getaway.
