Description

The estate was founded by Marie-Désiré Gratiot 150 years ago. The torch has been taken up by Rémy, a member of the 5th generation of Gratiot perpetuating the family know-how. The 18-hectare vineyard mainly grows with Pinot Meunier as this robust and expressive grape variety reveals the distinctiveness of the Aisne terroirs.

Gault&Millau's review

Gault&Millau's review
This Nature issued from blanc de noirs presents an intense golden colour and festive bubbles. It shows a lot of personality and Meunier is instrumental in the blend. Vegetal notes mingle with black fruits flavours and blackberry elegantly stand out. Zero dosage is a perfect fit for this cuvée.

Gault&Millau's review
This cuvée is made of 85% Meunier and 15% Chardonnay. It offers a nice golden colour and a continuous rise of bubbles. The nose might seem timid at first ; it will soon evoke the aromas of a bunch of white flowers while the mouth will remind of butter. While the presence of sugar might be too strong, it is quicky counterbalanced with a finale reminding of candied citrus fruits.

Gault&Millau's review
This cuvée is all delicacy. The nose is characterised by vegetal notes. Camomile and acacia clearly stand out while liquorice and almonds soon jump on the bandwagon. The mouth is revived by aromas of aniseed to end on a great length and a lasting sensation of freshness.

Colour Effervescent rosé
Gault&Millau's review
The nose of this Rosé clearly evokes cherry marshmallow and the mouth is reminiscent of rose. The palate is balanced by the presence of delicate bitter and salty notes as well as a slightly tart touch with some flavours of pink grapefruit in finish. The tannins create a pleasant chewy mouthfeel. This Rosé would match well with barbecued meats.

Gault&Millau's review

Gault&Millau's review
This 2012 vintage offers notes of yellow fruits, currants and old plums. The remarkable vinosity on the palate is particularly pleasant and the very fresh finish with a hint of bitterness is surprising. A pleasant vintage that could easy wait another few years in the cellar.

Désiré Rosé 100% Saignée

Type Extra brut
Millesime 2014
Gault&Millau's review

Gault&Millau's review
Thin bubbles rise gracefully in a rose gold colour. This vintage presents a nice evolution and offers on the nose aromas of dried apricot and fruit paste. On the palate, however, the wine remains fresh and notes of green almonds initiate a finish with beautiful bitters.
